My Movies Pro - Movie Library App Reviews

I have both the Mac and iPad versions of this application. All I can say is that at times this application is great but at times its completely frustrating. The times it is frustrating need to be limited severely to make this application 5 stars.

I like this app but If you are planning to use this app between multiple devices such as a Mac Laptop and an iPhone5, … forget it. There is NO… NO user-friendly method to acquire, import, or transfer your exhisting movie data from your MyMoviePro account webpage to an iPhone. I say this as my attempt to syncronize my existing account data with my iPhone5 was a complete bust. All I got was an (obviously incorrect) message stating that my account was already syncd… The only way around this is to manually enter/scan each and every movie title in to my iPhone. ...No thank you.

This app is an absolute life saver for my movie collection. It is very easy to use across my iphone 5, ipad2, macbook pro, and windows laptop. Absolutely no porblems whatsoever with syncing across devices. The amount of detail that can be had per title is amazing and yet the basic function of cataloging is not lost in the abundance of details. Through the ability to customize groups (though not add just change current ones), specific tags, and advanced filters allows me the ability to personalize my collection and keep a running list of future movies to watch. I have willfully purchased this app four times and every penny was well spent.

Once I gave this app a very low rating! I had a serious problem with being able to print the list. Now the problem has been fixed which is why I am rating the app as Five Stars for the amazing help it provides and for the ongoing excellent support. Thank you once again for working hard on improving the application. R.

Just downloaed the update and now my app wont open, I just get the following message "“My Movies Pro” is damaged and can’t be opened. Delete “My Movies Pro” and download it again from the App Store." Updates should be fully tested before being released ….

I had a problem with the software with synchornizing with on online data base and it gives me an error. The forum Support works Extremely Well, with in a couple of hours that were able to fix the problem and posted back on the forum as soon as it had been fixed. They have the most helpful as well as curtius support there on the forum.

I have used the app for now close to a year. Its great for tracking what movies you have including mobile device support. It is missing the ability to easily export to a Excel spreadsheet the data in it. You can put pesonal data into each movie, but cant get a total value of your collection which is important for insurance purposes. Even still I would recommend the app.

App works as advertised. EXCEPT ICLOUD syncing. Works only 50% of the time. Please fix the force sync issue!

Although this is a great app, there are some needed changes that other users have mentioned. However, Im giving this app a full 5 stars, because it single handedly solved a huge problem for me. My media was never detected properly in XBMC, Plex, Boxee, or ANYTHING else. Even this app doesnt detect everything correctly, automatically - BUT it allows me to correct the mistakes and then write the correct metadata into the media folders, so that XBMC can read the metadata and show me a correct menu. Ive spent a LOT more than $15 in trying to fix this problem. The time savings and peace of mind alone are worth it. I got myself a 2009 Mac Mini with GeForce graphics and a Mini DVI to HDMI cable for $300 and it sits under the TV as an XBMC machine that works PERFECTLY! Finally, Im not constantly working around bugs!!

I love this app, I used MyMovies the time on my laptop, and when I purchased a macbook, I of course wanted to get it for that as well. It works just fine, however there were a few things that are not available on the macbook version that I had grown very accustomed to on the Windows version. 1) I added a new title that was not yet available. Doing so was very simple, except when it came to adding the cast. Windows allows you to connect to IMDb, which automatically adds in the cast and crew. On my macbook, this app doesnt have it as an option, and I had to manually add each actor and crew member. 2) There are times when my collection must be sychronized with the online collection. That is fine, but on the Windows version, it tells me exactly what titles are going to be changed. Sometimes they are titles that Ive adjusted on my phone, and other times they are titles that other users have adjusted. The App store version doesnt tell me what is being changed. 3) I also miss being able to reset my collection numbers. I had my own personal preferences for that, and I can no longer change it. Other than that, this is a fantastic app. I have several hundered movies in my collection, and its nice to be able to look at a list and know exactly what I own so as to avoid purchasing a movie I already have.

I havent fully tested it but this seems to be what Ive been looking for. Previous cataloging software has either been reduced to nothing or hits you with fees for storage of content. The only thing Ive found missing is on importing previous content. The .csv import tool requires barcode or IMDB information in order to match. The program I had been using does not include those fields. Would be nice if this one would search on title and allow you to confirm choices upon import.

I have purchased and installed this app on my desktop, iPad and iPhone. Does everything I need it too. Apple: can you please delete my previous negative review? My previous review about not getting help from customer service has been resolved so I am changing my rating.

I really like this program and after dwonloading it for both my Macbook and my iPhone I found that I own 388 movie titles which is nice to know, it is not the largest collection out there however it is large enough that I recently purchased a second copy of a film that I already had because I was not sure I owned it..lol Okay, so I really like the way this program worked, it is simple and very intuitive so I was able to easily download the program and scan each of the titles that I own, the titles synchronized between the Macbook and the iPhone easily so that I can now see what own and get some great information about the movie wherever I may be. I gave the app a 4 star rating and would easily have given it a 5 if it had a couple of tools that I feel would be very helpful, first I have about thirty movies that are digital and they are located in my iTunes account and there is not as far as I can see a way for me to indicate that a movie is not a physical copy, this information would be great as I could determine where in my collection the movie is located. The next tool would be a category for movies I have seen that I do not own, that way I could see where I have been as that could help me determine future purchases as well as allow me to remember what movies I have seen, I mean as I get older I may forget..lol Anyway great App, just a couple of modifiers and it would be in my opinion an excellent App.

I recently replaced Delicious Library 2 with My Movies Pro, which turned out to be a far superior product. I also have the iPhone version. Synchoronization is a snap and very fast. I highly recommend this product, especially for users with large collections like myself. The iPhone scanning works very well too.

I can’t say enough good things about this app and it’s iPhone/iPad companions. The new option of boxsets is something I’ve been waiting for, for a long time. It however doesn’t translate to the mobile apps like it does on the desktop version. it counts the entire set as 1 and all the individual separately on the iPhone/iPad apps and doesn’t show the consolidation like the desktop app does. Update this and it’s superb.

We’ve been using this application for awhile now to keep track of all of our movies, and it’s great. I love that everything is syncd across my iPhones, iPads, and the computer. It’s so easy to access what movies are already in your collection, and to keep track of everything (locations of digital copies, etc etc). I love the fact that you can sort your movies however you want/need, making your own “playlists” for different categories. Overall a great application.

This app is the very best app of it’s kind especially when you can use it on all your devices great to have it on the iphone so if you are at a store you can check to see if you have it already or not great app.

This program is great, It allows me organize my extensive library of 800+ movies without any issues. The price could be better, doesn’t have great support for box sets which can cause some issues when trying to add the individual movies in said box sets.

I like the app but would like to be able to cusomize the groups. If there is already a way to do so, any help would be appreciated.

I have this on my Mac and my iPad, and I love it. We have an extensive movie collection and frequently lend movies to friends—this app allows tracking on multiple devices. We also host movie nights, and this is terrific for selecting movies. It links to IMDB and can play trailers if available. Highly recommended!
